Gryphon Gold is a U.S. based mine development company whose principal asset is the 27.5 square mile Borealis property located in the Walker Lane gold belt of Western Nevada. Gryphon Gold Corporation began exploration work at its premier property in Nevada, in 2003. Its Borealis property had been worked initially by a consortium of Houston, Tenneco and Echo Bay, but it was closed in 1990 because of low gold prices. Santa Fe Gold drilled 32 holes there from 1990 to 1996, but terminated its work after a merger. Cambior and Golden Phoenix drilled 10 more holes from 1996 to 2003, before optioning it to Gryphon Gold in 2003.

Borealis Property

Gryphon Gold acquired the property in 2003 and since then has completed; a revised resource calculation; acquired a heap-leach mine operating permit and initiated a $4.5-million, 72-hole drilling program in 2007. Read more [+]
