Salazar Resources Ltd (SRL:CA)
Salazar Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: SRL; Deutsche Boerse: CCG) is a publicly-listed, mineral resource company engaged in the exploration and development of highly prospective areas in Ecuador. The Company's senior Ecuadorian management team, including namesake Fredy Salazar, has been instrumental in several major discoveries throughout Ecuador. Among those discoveries are Aurelian's Fruta del Norte, IAM Gold's Quimsacocha and Mozo Deposits, (formerly) Newmont's Cangrejos Project and International Minerals’ Rio Blanco and Gaby Deposits. Salazar’s primary focus is the Curipamba VMS project where 2010 drilling at the El Domo deposit has intersected high grade precious and base metals over significant widths. Following are some highlights from recent drilling at El Domo:
- Hole 56: 15.95 metres of 11.32 grams per tonne gold, 195.31 grams per tonne silver, 3.75 per cent copper, 0.93 per cent lead and 8.19 per cent zinc;
- Hole 60: 32.36 metres of 3.75 grams per tonne gold, 39.18 grams per tonne silver, 3.67 per cent copper, 0.11 per cent lead and 1.44 per cent zinc;
- Hole 64: 8.85 metres of 5.83 grams per tonne gold, 179.62 grams per tonne silver, 8.07 per cent copper, 0.85 per cent lead and 6.33 per cent zinc;
- Hole 69: 5.37 metres of 31.87 grams per tonne gold, 321.05 grams per tonne silver, 1.01 per cent copper, 5.02 per cent lead and 10.03 per cent zinc.
Salazar has a 100% interest in the El Domo deposit and on Sept 28, 2010, the Company reported an updated resource estimate which was prepared by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates. The technical report is available on sedar. Salazar is in the midst of an 18,000 metre drill program which will see further drilling at El Domo as well as at Curipamba’s Sesmo Sur, La Vaquera and Agua Santa targets.
