How does HEMOCODE™ work?
The HEMOCODE™ Food Intolerance System uses a simple blood spot , collected via a finger stick to investigate a comprehensive list of potential food intolerances that may not be present immediately after ingestion. Once blood is collected, it is sent to a laboratory for evaluation. Results are returned to the Pharmacy within seven to ten business days. The customer receives a set of valuable and easy to understand results and detailed personalized materials.
The system is made up of the following components:

Food Intolerance
A food intolerance is a food sensitivity that does not involve a classic allergic histamine response and as such, is not life-threatening. Unlike food allergies, or chemical sensitivities, where a small amount of food can cause a reaction, it generally takes a more normal sized portion to produce symptoms of food intolerance. Since symptoms of intolerance are delayed in their onset, food intolerances are traditionally much more difficult to diagnose.
