Our Strategy for Acquisitions, Exploration and Communication
To increase shareholder value and sustain company growth, Goldex Resources has outlined three principal business strategies:
- Exploration – Goldex has sought out and acquired exceptional properties in Guatemala and in the Durango State of Mexico. With the assistance of additional local geologists, our seasoned team of professionals is driving progress forward on our flagship El Pato property in Guatemala while continuing to develop our El Arco acquisition in Mexico.
- Communication – Through additional properties and aggressive exploration Goldex aims to provide a steady news flow while continuing to find new and innovative ways of informing shareholders about company developments. These communications strategies range from face-to-face discussions at trade shows to our commitment to new media, which we will feature in the months to come.
- Acquisitions – Goldex is continually evaluating additional mineral properties and revenue-generating opportunities with an understanding that more properties lead to increased news flow and in turn, a favorable share price. With our team legacy, quality contacts and decades of experience, Goldex commands top of mind consideration for superior projects and acquisitions.

Utilizing the complementary expertise of the Goldex team, the company will maintain its core business focus while embracing discovery and pursuing additional innovative and cash flow generating opportunities.
Corporate Governance
Corporate governance establishes a reasonable degree of independence of the board of directors (the “Board”) from executive management by adopting policies to ensure that the Board recognizes the principles of good management.
Directors are considered to be independent if they have no direct or indirect material relationship with Goldex. A “material relationship” is a relationship which could, in the opinion of the Board, interfere with the exercise of any one director’s independent judgment.
The Board has concluded that its small size allows it to effectively conduct Goldex’s business at the Board level excepting, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, its delegation of certain responsibilities to an audit committee.
Goldex’s corporate governance practices are in agreement with applicable Canadian stock market compliance requirements. Goldex files documents on www.sedar.com .
Projects Overview
El Pato – Guatemala
A United Nations’ drill program resulted in an inferred resource estimate of 430,000 oz’s Au with highlights of 5.85 m of 4.86 g/t Au and 3.8m of 9.793 g/t Au.
- A 5,000 meter drill program is underway with the objective to extend the strike of the El Pato historical resource of 430,000 oz’s Au. The potential resource may double to 1,000,000 oz's Au or more when it can be shown to extend along strike as far as the El Sauce sector where Goldex already have high-grade gold mineralization from multiple trenches at surface with the average grade being 11.4 g/t.
- Goldex drilling has confirmed average historic grade of 7g/t.
- A fifth lease has been staked which has a mineralized hydrothermal alteration that measures at least 50 meters in width and can be traced over east west strike length of 5 km’. This is the La Chorrera property to the south of El Pato. (Formerly Las Granadillas)
- Recent metallurgical samples at the El Pato Cerrito West dip slope averaged 28 g/t Au. This is an area of high grade surface mineralization that may be amenable to open pit mining.
The El Pato gold vein target is situated in an emerging gold district in Guatemala. Several major and junior resource mining companies are very active in the area, including Radius Gold with their Holly-Banderas property, Tahoe Resource’s Escobal property which contains a silver-equivalent indicated resource of 300 million ounces and Goldcorp’s Cerro Blanco property which lies to the south of El Pato and has an indicated resource of 1.3 million ounces gold. El Pato has a prestigious legacy of discovery having first been explored by the United Nations in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. At that time the UN made a historic inferred resource estimate of 430,000 oz Au. Goldex is presently undertaking a 5000 m drill program to prove up the historical inferences.
The El Pato project is located in south-eastern Guatemala, 5 kilometers west of the town of Chiquimula, the closest commercial centre to the project and approximately 110 km east of Guatemala City. Access to the property is via a series of paved and gravel roads from Chiquimula.
The El Pato property lies in a tectonically active region between the Motagua and Jocotan Faults, which mark the sulture zone between the colliding North American and Caribbean plates.
The project consists of two mineral exploration licenses which cover an area of approximately 126 square kilometers. Royalties on the property consist of a 1% NSR that is payable to the Guatemalan Ministry of Mines and a US$1/oz of gold produced royalty payable to EL Condor resources for the gold that is extracted from the property.
There is excellent potential on the El Pato property to expand known zones of mineralization and to identify new zones, including high-grade precious metals veins amenable to underground mining as well as near surface lower grade mineralization amenable to open pit methods.
In early 2010, Goldex discovered significant new mineralization and applied for another new concession (La Chorrera, formerly Las Granadillas-Bendicion) south of El Pato.
El Arco-Mexico
- Vein mineralization is similar to that at Fresnillo's La Cienega mine, Durango (2009 production 1,589,000 oz Ag, 116,903 oz Au, 6118 t Lead, 7950 t Zinc. Average grade Ag 4.3 g/t ).
- Located in the Central Plateau gold and silver belt, near the historic silver/lead/zinc district of Tejamen.
- El Arco demonstrates low sulphidation epithermal style banded quartz veinlets. Similar to those found at the surface in the La Cienega District hosted with in the historically unexplored Rhyolites.
- Surface samples have confirmed the presence of both high grade gold and silver.
- El Arco is located in a historically high Gold Silver trend. Numerous mines are located in the area including the La Cienga mine (Fresnillo PLC – The world’s largest primary Silver producer) which at this moment is the largest producing Gold Mine in Mexico. The mineralization at El Arco is remarkably similar to this highly productive mine. Also of note is the San Dimas mine that was sold by Goldcorp for half a billion dollars US earlier last year.

The project consists of one mineral exploration license which covers approximately 3,381 hectares. Goldex has the exclusive rights to purchase a 100% ownership interest in the property for $500,000 (USD) for the ten year duration of the agreement. The previous owner shall be entitled to receive the Net Smelter Royalty up to 1%.
