American Vanadium is currently developing their 100% owned Gibellini Project in Nevada along with several adjacent vanadium properties while evaluating strategic vanadium market related opportunities.
Gibellini's world-class NI 43-101 compliant vanadium resource (122 million pounds indicated), together with the project's significantly low cost (open pit, heap leach), represents the opportunity for American Vanadium to become North America's only primary producer of vanadium.
The Gibellini Project is expected to start vanadium production by 2013. With mine production projected to reach 14 million pounds of vanadium per year by 2013, Gibellini could potentially supply 5% of current global vanadium demand.
And with Gibellini's production process uniquely designed to yield vanadium pentoxide and battery grade vanadium, American Vanadium's executive team is actively seeking opportunities for off take agreements and vertical integration with both the steel production and clean tech mass energy storage/battery production industries.
American Vanadium trades on the TSX Venture Exchange as a tier-one company under the symbol AVC (TSX.V:AVC); on the OTC Bulletin Board Exchange under the symbol RMRCF (OTC:RMRCF.PK); and on the Frankfurt Exchange under the symbol 0UA (Frankfurt: 0UA.F).

Gibellini Project

American Vanadium's 100% owned, open pit, heap leach Gibellini Project represents one of the lowest cost and most simple vanadium operations to be developed in the world.
The project's NI 43-101 compliant resource represents 122 million pounds of indicated vanadium (i.e., vanadium pentoxide or V205) grading at 0.339%, and an additional 16 million pounds of inferred vanadium grading at 0.282% (more NI 43-101 details further below).
The Gibellini Project is solidly tracking towards delivery of a feasibility study by the summer of 2011 and production as early as Q1 2013 (subject to permitting), which would make American Vanadium the only primary vanadium mine in the U.S..
The Company is undertaking a feasibility Study based on Case 2 of the Preliminary Economic Assessment under which mine production is projected to average 14 million pounds of vanadium pentoxide per year. This will enable Gibellini to potentially supply 5% of current global vanadium demand.
And with the onsite production process designed to yield vanadium pentoxide, the project will create opportunities for off take agreements in the steel industry. Furthermore, since the process already yields vanadium in sulfuric acid in an intermediary step to producing vanadium pentoxide, it is expected that this can be pulled from the process and used directly as an electrolyte for grid scale energy storage.
A scoping study completed by AMEC E&C Services Limited in October 2008 has guided project development as well as the scope of the final feasibility study currently underway by AMEC.
According to the scoping study, American Vanadium could potentially become the lowest cost primary vanadium producer in the world with a strip ratio of 0.2 and a unit cost of $2.97/lb*.
The study's Case 2 scenario also places the Gibellini Project's after tax IRR at 40%, and after tax NPV at $89M at a 5% discount (more scoping study details further below).
The project is comprised of 215 unpatented claims totaling 6,600 acres in U.S. state of Nevada, which is ranked among the world's top 10 mining jurisdictions. Opportunities also exist to further expand the project beyond its current definition.
