AMI Resources Inc. (TSX-V: AMU) is a publicly traded Vancouver, British Columbia based company focused on the evaluation, acquisition and development of promising gold projects. AMI, through its wholly owned operating subsidiary AMI Africa Exploration Ltd., (“AMI Africa”) has elected to concentrate its exploration activities in West Africa, with projects currently underway in both Ghana and Niger.

The North Ashanti Gold Project in Ghana, covers 166 sq km along the prolific gold bearing Ashanti Trend. Newmont’s +8 m ounce Akyem deposit lies approx. 25 km to the east and the company has granted Newmont an option to earn up to a 75% interest in the Anuoro portion of this project by spending US$4 m in property payments and work commitments over the next 5 years.

The Sirba Gold Project in Niger, adjoins Semafo’s producing Samira Hill Mine to the NE and SW. A non-compliant NI43-101 resource has already been established on the SW 550 sq km Deba license and multiple gold zones have been identified on the NE 372 sq km Tialkam license. AMI is earning a 51% interest in this project from Golden Star Resources by spending US$1.5 m over 3 years.
