Colombia Crest Gold Corp. (CLB:CA)
Colombia Crest Gold Corp. (TSXV: CLB / Frankfurt: EAT) is focused on acquisition of large-scale gold exploration projects in South America. The Company owns 100% of mining concessions that cover 120 km2 on the San Simon Plateau, located in northeastern Bolivia. The Company has also optioned over 15,000 hectares of the Fredonia Project, in the Cauca River Valley, between the Eastern and Western Cordilleras of the Andes Mountains, northwestern Colombia.
COLOMBIA: The Fredonia Project Area
Colombia Crest’s option allows exploration and discovery on more than 15,000 hectares located in the Cauca River Valley. Situated approximately 40 km south of the city of Medellín, in Antioquia, the property is positioned within one of the most prospective and productive gold belts of Colombia, one that has more than 500 years of gold mining history combined with a number of significant 10+ million ounce gold discoveries.
Fredonia is a large area of principally unexplored ground in close proximity to several significant proven and historic gold resources which, along with Management’s preliminary geophysical work, indicates a high-probability for the discovery of one or more large porphyry style gold deposits.
BOLIVIA: San Simon Project
The project lies in the same belt of rocks that hosts the 1.6 million oz São Francisco gold deposit in Brazil.
Since 1995, Colombia Crest has discovered four areas of known gold mineralization:
- Doña Amelia
- San Simon (Paititi-Buriti Trend)
- Marco Maria, and
- Doña Angela
In the Doña Amelia zone, Colombia Crest has completed 77,000 metres of drilling in 326 holes. A NI 43-101 resource is being prepared by SRK, concentrating on the easternmost portion of the zone, an area where detailed drilling has provided indication of high-grade 10+ g/t Au in vertical gold shoots. The NI 43-101 report is expected in October 2010.
