Kootenay Silver Inc. (KTN:CA)
Welcome to Kootenay Silver Inc. TSX.V KTN
Kootenay Silver is actively developing mineral projects in the Sierra Madre Region of Mexico and in British Columbia, Canada. The Company's flagship property is the former producing Promontorio Silver mine in Sonora State, Mexico. Encouraging results from ~60,000 meters of drilling at Promontorio suggests the possible existence of a large Porphyry system similar to major producing deposits within the region. The objective of the current 25,000 meter drill program is to substantially build on and expand the existing NI 43-101 silver resource identified on the project by AGP Mining Consultants in 2010. Two diamond drill rigs are currently operating on Promontorio.
Kootenay's management and technical team are proven professionals with extensive international experience in all aspects of mineral exploration, operations and venture capital markets. Multiple, ongoing J/V partnerships in Mexico and Canada maximize potential for additional, new discoveries while maintaining minimal share dilution. The Company's objective is to develop near term discoveries and long term sustainable growth.

Project
Promontorio (Sonora, Mexico)
Promontorio is a silver-dominated polymetallic system hosted by breccias and stockwork veining transitional between a porphyry and intermediate sulfidation system. Based on extensive work to date and comparison to similar mineral systems in Mexico management of Kootenay Silver believes Promontorio has potential to host a silver deposit in the 50 to 150 million ounce range with grades in the range of 40 to 100 gpt silver and 2 to 4% lead + zinc*. The Company's objective is to test this potential and if realized systematically develop the Promontorio property taking the necessary steps to advance the project towards a production decision. * The potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature. Insufficient exploration has been done to define a mineral resource of the target size and it is not yet known if further exploration will result in the target size being delineated. The ranges of grade and tonnes are based on those seen at similar systems throughout Mexico and on drill results to date.
Currently the project hosts an NI 43 101 compliant resource containing 8.9 million indicated ounces of silver plus 1.17 million ounces of inferred silver, 99.3 million indicated pounds of lead plus 13.4 million inferred pounds of lead and 110.8 million indicated pounds of zinc plus 14.3 million inferred pounds of zinc. The indicated resources are contained within 5.22 million tonnes of 52.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.86% lead and 0.96% zinc and the inferred resources are contained within 0.65 million tonnes grading 55.7 gpt silver, 0.94% lead and 1.0% zinc. Jumping Josephine (BC, Canada)
Jumping Josephine Gold Property, British Columbia Canada
THE OPPORTUNITY/Overview
- Size Matters: JJ Main is a gold-bearing stockwork (vein network) system 900 meters (m) long (open to south),
1 to 12 m wide, and 240 m deep (open to depth Fig.1); extensive drilling (Fig.2) supports potential for a significant gold resource . - Grade Potential is Demonstrated: Drill intercepts (Fig.3) include 7.01 g/t Au over 19m (estimated true width 12.6m; hole 07JD013) and 12.44 g/t Au over 8m (estimated true width 5.5m; hole 08JD048; ref. July 12th 2007 and Nov 29th 2007 news releases).
- Vectors Decrease Exploration Risk: Superposed geophysical (aeromagnetic) and geochemical (soil) signatures were vectors into the JJ Main discovery. These signatures persist southward, beneath overburden, another 2 km (or more), giving the JJ Main stockwork structure a minimum 3 km strike-length (Fig.1). This provides ample opportunity for additional discoveries -- preliminary trench and drill tests have been encouraging.
- Structural Style Consistent with Additional Mineralized Targets: Parallel and (or) en-echelon stockwork structures are expected in this type of simple shear regime, and they are evident in results from 494 infill and extension grid soil samples collected earlier in 2010. For example, the Big Sheep target has an arsenic anomaly comparable in intensity to the JJ Main Zone; it measures 500m by 140m and is aligned parallel to JJ Main. Sheep Creek is one of several high-priority gold targets that will be tested, including: Bonanza, Hillside and Borrow Pit. The 2010 soil sample database is complete, and has been interpreted using a GIS.
LATEST WORK/RESULTS

Santa Lucia (Sonora, Mexico)
Santa Lucia Norte Gold-Silver, Sonora, Northwestern Mexico
Status: Joint Ventured with Copper Creek Gold Corp
- Prime Location: The 4,904 Hectares that comprises the Santa Lucia property (Fig.1) is part of the Sierra Madre Occidental gold-silver belt (Fig.8), host to many epithermal deposits (Fig.2) including: Mulatos, Dolores, Pinos Alto, Ocampo, Suazal amongst many others.
- Drilling Demonstrates Grade to Depth: Historical drill intercepts from the south, central and Genero zones (Fig.3) -- 3 of the 4 mineralized zones known (so far) -- demonstrate that mineralization extends to depth along 3 km of prospective strike length (Table II).
- Unexplored CSAMT Anomaly: A controlled-source audio-frequency magneto telluric anomaly about 2.5 km long, situated beneath known gold-bearing drill core and exploration pits, is consistent with the presence of a vein- stockwork-system at depth (ref. grid, Fig.3).
- New Discoveries near Old Workings create Blue Sky: Increased potential for multi-gram gold -- up to and exceeding 1 oz Au/t and accompanied by multi-ounce silver -- is supported by surface samples from new discoveries in the Fortuna zone (Table III; Fig.4).

Copley, (BC, Canada)
Northern Vertex (TSX.V: NEE) has the right to earn a 60% interest in the Copely Gold Property, located in the Nechako Plateau of Central British Columbia in exchange for issuing 1) a total of 800,000 common shares of Northern Vertex to Kootenay; and 2) financing $2.2 million of exploration expenditures on the property within a four year period.
Gold potential of the Copley Property (the Property) is considered high for the following reasons:
- Significant Gold at Surface: In one area measuring 55 m by 140 m and consisting of poorly exposed scilicified rhyolite:
- 11 sample sites returned values greater than 1 g Au/ton including one at 14 g Au/ton; and
- 23 additional sites had values between 0.05 and 1.0 g Au/ton This is one of several gold-bearing zones identified thus far.
- Size Potential: The gold-bearing system is large, at least 6 km long and 2 km wide. The property consists of 4,475 hectares centered on Copley Lake.
- Favorable Geologic Setting: Gold occurs in three aligned topographic domes underlain by silicified rhyolite.
- Textures and Alteration Consistent with Gold Deposition: The zone of boiling (gold deposition) is manifest as: 1) quartz replacing bladed calcite crystals; 2) miarolitic cavities lined by fine-crystalline quartz crusts; 3) scilicification, 4) celadonic and argillic alteration.
- Significant Ground Preparation: Several surges of brecciation and stockworking focused fluid flow and provided the opportunity for gold transportation and deposition.
- Regional Scale Structures: At least one major east-west structure traverses the property, topographic and magnetic linears suggest several are present.
- Blackwater as an Analogue: Copley is geologically similar to Blackwater, Richfield Ventures' important new bulk tonnage discovery located 40 km to the south.
- Excellent Infrastructure and Logistics: All season road-access and a nearby power grid have important long-term cost implications.
